"This program deals exclusively with the subject of parenting children with mental or physical disabilities. Particular emphasis is placed on children from infancy through early childhood. The content includes important topics such as: *Birth and diagnosis of a child with disability, *Impact on the family system, *Psychological stages that most parents of children with disabilities will experience, *Importance of early intervention programs, *Review of federal laws for developing appropriate and effective educational programs. "The video also features a number of candid interviews in which parents of children with disabilities share their personal concerns and experiences. "Parenting Children with Disabilities will help parents prepare for the unique challenges of raising a child with disabilities.
